Sumit Kumar is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and Navodayan by heart. He had worked in renowned MNCs. Since his School days, he had been active in mentoring, teaching and career counseling. In his IIT days, he along with few more friends created a vibrant group of Navodayan from different parts of India. The group led several activities for increasing morale of School children, felicitating them for exposure to the technical festival in IIT Kanpur, and teaching them across different Navodaya. Nishtha Jain, a gold medalist from IIM Kozhikode, is currently working with Amazon India. She worked with NTPC Limited for around three years. By being Group leader of National Service Scheme during her engineering days at NIT Kurukshetra, she has displayed her special inclination towards helping the unprivileged in the society. Moreover, she led a team of volunteers of Navodaya Mission during its initial stage as ‘Prayas Team’ at Rihand Nagar. During her stay at Rihand, she got deeply involved in the lives of poor people, developed empathetic attitude towards slum dwellers and guided tribal children by frequent visits to Sewa Kunj Ashram. She has always been eager to grab opportunities for bringing differences in the lives of needy people whom she meets in her life.
Ashish Kumar, an alumnus of FMS, Delhi and a marketer by profession, is passionate to meet people and know about them. From core of heart, he is inclined for the upliftment of society and believes that changes can certainly be brought through education. He actively participated in foundation of “Navodaya Mission”. He supported children of slum areas of Shakti Nagar at Sonebhadra and helped in their overall personality development. Since then he has been actively involved in planning of activities of Navodaya Mission. He always comes up with new ideas of development substantiated by well-laid out plans for execution. At FMS, he undertook project work which involved developing methodology to aware about ill-effects of tobacco on health among common mass and selected Sonebhadra, one of the least developed district of India, as his area of research. He has thrust for doing well for the society and works hard for Navodaya Mission’s progress.
Dhiraj Pal, an alumnus of IIM Bangalore, has been working in healthcare space for quite some time. He is of firm belief that incremental benefits of initiating positive transformation into hygiene aspects of society can do wonders for under-privileged section. As a citizen of this great nation, this should be our rightful duty to not let go any deserving child devoid of opportunity. He was among the first group of Navodaya Mission who conceptualize this mission and motivated children to become part of this journey. He is one of the pillars of this organization’s sustainability and growth.
Dr. Siddhartha Bhasker, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and currently pursuing PhD from IIM Ahmedabad, has worked at Ernst and Young as an Associate Consultant. He has experience in projects related to Climate Change. He has taught slum children at Navi Mumbai in the NGO ‘Aarambh’ and has been a regular contributor to Green Peace India. His experience in teaching slum children has made him believe the change one can bring into the society by working with underprivileged children. His aim is to bring his experience while working with the noble goals of Navodaya Mission. Presently, he is on his way to publish his first novel along with doing a PhD at IIM Ahmedabad in the field of Economics.
Rahul Kumar Singhal is a chartered accountant working with NTPC Ltd. He appeared in IAS interview twice. His hobbies include teaching, analyzing issues of national importance and practicing yoga & swimming. He likes to work for education sector, women empowerment and environment conservation. Throughout his stay at Rihand (Sonebhadra), he taught slum-dwelling children and participated actively in organizing events like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and other awareness programs in rural areas under “Navodaya Guru”.

She is writer and poet and also social activist. She did her PhD in English Literature from LNMU Darbhanga on the topic Social Realism in the Representative Short Stories of Guy de Maupassant. Her writings and poetry books like “She” and “Men’s Land” portrays the pain and agonies of women and workers and ends with hope for better world for them. Moreover, she also writes articles in various international journals. She is one of the pillars of Navodaya Mission and gave its name and ensured its registration so that our social activities is carried on in more organized way. She gave the name of our organization.
