Once again all the four Kho-Kho Teams of Gov. School Sirsoti qualified for district level after winning tough matches at block level tournament held at Anpara.
Sirsoti Khel Mahakumbh organized by Navodaya Mission under the leadership of Jitendra Paliwal, alumni of NIT Jalandhar to promote sports spirit among the rural students of Myorepur, Sonebhadra in Nov 2012 has started giving fruits. Now as the initiative has been continued by a young villager Abhimanyu Jaisawal, who continued giving training to children of this school. In year 2015, two Kho-Kho teams of Gov. School, Sirsoti (the last village of Sonebhadra touching Madhya Pradesh) reached in Semifinal in state level tournament in Lucknow. Teams of only this school in three districts (Sonebhadra, Mirzapur and Bhadohi) got opportunity to play in Lucknow. Navodaya Mission has goal to convert this school as model school while working with school management and village dignitaries.
For enhancing enthusiasm of children, Navodaya Mission distributed Sports T-Shirts to those children who are going to play Kho-Kho (Four teams) in next level. On this very occasion Ranbir Singh (Sr. Manager), Yogendra Kumar (Vice President), Rahul Kumar (Director), Dr. Ram Prasad Gaud (Social Worker), Shalini, Mithilesh Shrivastava (Rajbhasha Adhikari) along with villagers were present. Raveesh Vyas (ISB Hyderabad), Aashish Kumar (IOCL), and many engineers of NTPC contributed for giving T-Shirts for this purpose.
