Village Background:
In the remotest location of Myorepur block, which is at the remotest location of Sonebhadra district, the only tribal majority district of Uttar Pradesh and categorized as least developed. Nemna is a village whose majority population are tribe. Illiteracy level is high. There is no middle school within the range of eight to nine kilometres. The major population of this village lives two three kilometres of the main road. There is no public school or schools run by any NGOs in nearby locality so that students may get quality education.
An school has been run by Chetna since 10 years with the permission of Gram Pradhan on village premises. Recently 500 children were enrolled. Due to lack of funds the school has been closed. 500 students have been stranded. Girls have suffered more and most of them may be forced to drop for further schooling. Seeing the impact of Navodaya Mission in the field of education in that area, Gram Pradhan of Nemna village has requested Navodaya Mission for taking over the school for running it, so that children of the village get benefited. Navodaya Mission Trust has decided to run the school with new vigour. One engineering graduate has shown willingness to teach in the school and expressed enthusiasm to make it a model school. He has has been heading Navodaya Mission Academy, Nemna who helped four students to crack polytechnic exams in one years of effort only. With a good team of qualified youths, we may impart quality education them developing a global view among the children.

Sonebhadra has been categorized as an Aspirational District. Census Data 2011 Sonbhadra reveals Nemna one of the worst developed village.
